We dreamed up California Fire Prevention Organization on the apparatus floor of a fire station in California, chatting with members of the LAFD. Firefighters have been at the core of what we do from our earliest days.
We Teach With You
We developed California Fire Prevention Organization to let firefighters concentrate on the core mission of life safety. Our team manages curriculum, logistics, and analysis. When you visit schools in your district, you won’t have to worry about the quality of the materials, how the visit will be tracked, and the important online messages that support the visit.
If your fire department already visits schools, that’s great! But often, generic or homemade materials take the shine off of a professional firefighter presentation. We’ve got your back. Our affiliate and partner firefighters get free access to professionally designed materials that are specific to California, our resources, people, and the threat matrix we live with. In fact, much of our material has been developed as a result of working with firefighters across the state.
Remember: We take all of the logistics and administrative work relative to program materials and process off of your hands. We want you, as sworn firefighters, to concentrate on your expertise when delivering fire and life safety messages.
If you’re an officer, we have a team ready to assist you with community outreach. Our educators visit community and homeowner groups throughout the State of California, and as such, we can help facilitate special events and presentations. We have PowerPoint presentations that can be customized to your city and department. These materials are often available at no cost.
In our in-person presentations, we always teach with multimedia tools, and invite you to use our vast collection of award-winning educational films. You can see most of them throughout this website. Collaboration For A Safer Community
California Fire Prevention Organization works with your department as a public/private partnership. By assisting firefighters with the education and outreach process, effective community outreach can be achieved without impacting already tight and often constricted budgets.
We Volunteer With You
Our educators are almost always first responders themselves. Many are EMTs, Incident Command specialists, or educators. Most are young men and women developing the expertise to become professional career firefighters and paramedics.
It doesn’t matter if your department is career, volunteer, or mixed – our members are ready to get involved in your community when you are. We’re managed by an experienced board of directors made up of active and retired career fire officers. So, we understand the culture of the fire service.
