Fireworks

Leave fireworks to the professionals

Fireworks are beautiful to look at. They are part of our nation’s tradition and often a part of family values. They are also, for the most part, illegal in California. Why? Because children are injured. People are killed every year. And homes and wildland burn as a result of stray fireworks.

The State Fire Marshal approves a unique kind of fireworks – called “Save and Sane” fireworks. These devices to not fly, nor do they explode. But, they are still dangerous. As an example, water boils at 212 degrees (f). A safe and sane sparkler burns at 1,200 degrees (f) or hotter. A burn from a sparkler can change a child’s life forever.
